Our story.

Uncommon Grit SEAL Foundation was built for the moments most people never see—the quiet breaking points after the uniform comes off, after the adrenaline fades, after the crisis passes…and life still isn’t steady.

We exist because too many veterans, first responders, and families face gaps in care, resources, and community support right when they need it most. Sometimes it’s mental health and recovery. Sometimes it’s safety and daily footing. Sometimes it’s the simple, practical tools that restore independence and dignity.

Our work is personal, and it’s purposeful. We stay close to the people, the partners, and the outcomes—because lives are on the other side of every decision.

Meet our leadership.

You are change makers! It’s because of you that Stronghold has been able to provide real support to thousands of military families. You helped with every single one.

What SEAL-founded means.

SEAL-founded means holding ourselves to a higher standard: clear objectives, trusted teammates, and accountable impact.

That standard shows up in how we operate:

Clear objectives
We fund needs and programs with specific purpose—not vague goodwill.

Trusted teammates
We work through vetted partners who are proven on the ground.

Accountable impact
We follow through, track results, and stay connected to the outcome.

Speed with discernment
We move quickly when urgency matters, and carefully when lives are at stake.

Stewardship
We treat every donor dollar like it’s mission-critical—because it is.

How we decide where help goes.

We create impact in two ways: funding critical care and stability needs and activating proven programs through trusted partnerships.

Our process looks like:

1) Identify the gap
We listen to what’s breaking down—and what would restore stability fastest.

2) Vet the path forward
We assess the partner, the plan, and the likelihood of meaningful impact.

3) Fund and activate
We deploy resources—often quickly—so the right help reaches the right people.

4) Follow through
We stay close to the work and track outcomes so support doesn’t stop halfway.

Our focus areas.

Our work falls into three simple buckets:

HEAL: Well-being and recovery
Mental health care, trauma care, recovery resources, and pathways to wellness.

STABILIZE: Safety and daily footing
Housing and food assistance, service dog training/placement, and technology access that strengthens independence.

CONNECT: Belonging and purpose
Camps for children who’ve lost a parent, community strengthening, and veteran storytelling.

These buckets keep our work clear—and keep us flexible as new needs emerge.

Thank you for the laptop. I’m starting to get back on my feet again, and this laptop allows me to use Zoom to meet with my VA doctors without travel being a barrier anymore.

The name evolution.

If you’ve supported us in the past, you may notice our updated name and logo.

Uncommon Grit SEAL Foundation is a DBA (doing business as) of Uncommon Grit Foundation.
This is the same organization and mission—presented with greater clarity as we grow.

We made this change so our public-facing brand immediately reflects the ethos behind our approach: honor, resilience, and action—and the communities we exist to serve.
